Last week we were very lucky to host 12 of our close family and friends for our first Thanksgiving in our new house.
Chris decided he wanted to cook the entire meal this year. So while Chris was busy smoking the turkey I set out to make the house look festive for all our guests.
I threw together a quick centerpiece for the table using a pumpkin lamp from HomeSense (lamp pieces removed) and some fake fall foliage from our local dollar store.
Our dining room table can fit 8 so to comfortably seat 12 we moved the table from our breakfast area into the hall outside the dining room. I found a matching tablecloth & runner (in two different Marshalls stores!) which made our two tables look connected.
Because we still haven’t found a light fixture for our dining room (I don’t want to talk about it) we needed some light. My solution? Lamps! I liberated some lamps from other rooms in the house and I actually really like the light we ended up with. Obviously not a good long term solution, but a nice intimate light for our little gathering.
…And of course, the smoked turkey. Yum!
