How much decorating do you do for the holidays? This will be our forth Christmas in our house and every year I add a few more decorations. This year things are looking pretty festive over here so I thought I’d put together a little holiday home tour!
We don’t have a fireplace so our stockings hang from our stair railings – they’re the first thing you see when walk in the front door and give the hallway a nice festive touch. Peaking through in the next room are this year’s advent calendars…
This year we have a beauty, tea and chocolate calendars all set up in our dining room.
Last year we put our tree up in the living room but this year we decided to try it in the hallway. I can’t decide which I like better. The tree? Fake. From Costco. I think this might be it’s last Christmas and Chris will finally get to have a live tree. I’m not sure how I feel about that either lol.
Because you can see in to our living room from the kitchen mum and I added this garland around the large window.
Instead of buying new pillows just for the holidays we have covers that zip off and are easy to store with the rest of our decorations.
Other than some red cushion covers and a garland around the window, our kitchen is essentially unchanged. Especially because we may have forgotten to take down that window garland after last Christmas and then just left it up…all. year. long.
Oh and my attempts to recreate fancy Pinterest chalkboards!
I swear this kitchen reno was one of the best things we’ve ever done. I don’t remember the last time it was this tidy – you should see the pile of stuff I scooped off the counter to take this photo #sorrynotsorry
This year I also decided to give our bedroom a bit of a festive makeover with some red sheets and a flannel duvet cover.
Those sofa cushions look pretty good up here too but they didn’t stick around – no extra pillows on the bed in this house!
Even though I’m not a huge fan of winter I love how cozy our house feels. Now I just need a mug of hot chocolate, some fuzzy socks and a totally cheesy holiday movie. Who’s with me?
Love what you’ve done. And the tree looks great in the hallway! Like the plaid flannel duvet cover.
