Greetings from Florida! While mum and I are adventuring in the sunshine state I thought I’d share a quick DIY we did before we left on our travels.
Mum decided to move her office from the second floor down to the basement so it would be closer to her bedroom & sitting area. We put together a quick little office for her in a small corner of the basement that is bright and comfortable and we were so excited to get started I didn’t get a chance to take any before photos (oops!).
We extended full height white bookcases down the hallway down into the room and around the corner with some half height ones to hold all her books and baskets.
This stunning blue rug was a great accidental find.
We created a feature wall using this wallpaper which has some texture to it that doesn’t really show in the photos and a bit of sparkle. PSA: Wallpapering uneven and angled walls sucks.
Mum’s desk is made up of a custom wood plank top (tutorial coming soon!) and two black filing cabinets.
This area of the basement doesn’t have a window so adding a new light fixture with three bulbs made a huge difference!
This was a great project that, with the exception of the tabletop, only took 2 days to put together. Now mum has a bright space where she can work comfortably in her basement suite.
