Master Bathroom Demolition Day

Taking everything out of our bathroom ended up being a lot easier than I expected. I was most nervous about taking down the mirror and having tiny shards of glass rain down on me, but we followed this video, stuck privacy film to it, and it was no big deal. In fact, getting the privacy film on was more frustrating removing the mirror!

MirrorDown

After the mirror was down it was time to take apart the vanity

And…bad news bears, there were missing tiles under the vanity as my mother in law predicted.

Luckily it turns out that our builder had left some extra tiles in our basement so no need to rip up our floor…we just need to learn how to cut tile…without a tile saw…with a grinder. Chris decided to take on that task…

He did a really good job.

While Chris was doing that, I starting taping and painting the walls.

The paint colour we choose is called Unicorn White from CIL. I’m not confident that this is actually the colour of unicorns but it’s a very neutral colour and I like it a lot more than the green we had before.

While we haven’t exactly figured out how to run the wiring to our new light fixtures yet we did get to Ikea to pick them up. So…right now we’re without lights and a sink so it looks like we’ll be using the guest bathroom for a while!
