Welcome to the 2017 edition of my holiday home tour – This year I’m teaming up with some amazing Canadian bloggers for a whole week of tours where we share how we decorate for the holidays!
Welcome to our home!
While we don’t spend a lot of time on the front porch in the winter, watching the show while sitting under my faux fur blanket with the christmas lights and our portable lantern from Kichler does sound pretty amazing….if only we had some snow…
Inside, our dining room is decked out this year in grey, red and purple.
Our Christmas tree is a work in progress – this is out first year with a real tree and we may have gone a little overboard picking the biggest one and of course I ran out of lights. Oh well. We’ll have them all up before we decorate with our family ornaments closer to Christmas.
Our dining room doesn’t really get a lot of regular use, but this will be our set up for my big family breakfast on Christmas morning. Spoiler alert: This view is going to look VERY different in next year’s holiday tour and I can hardly wait!
p.s. I’m not sure how I feel about the real tree yet (even though the cats seem to enjoy drinking the water out of the stand).
Our kitchen table is where we eat most of our meals, so some updated plaid cushions and a simple set up makes the space a little more festive.
My grandmother’s noel angle candle holders are a favourite holiday decoration – while I don’t use them with candles (they look a little creepy coming out of their heads) I love putting them on a shelf in our kitchen.
The grey and red continues in the living room where I’ve rearranged things (maybe permanently). The ladder is a DIY project from our bathroom now holding a collection of throws – including my DIY fleece backed throw.
Mum also got in the festive spirit and gave her bedroom cheer with a flannel duvet cover and some Christmas garland!
Thanks for taking the tour – Make sure to check out all the amazing Christmas tours taking place today and throughout the entire week. These ladies are seriously inspiring!

Your home is beautiful Casey! I miss my traditional red Christmas a bit this year! Love all of the plaids and patterns you used. Happy holidays my friend! 🙂
so cozy and christmasy! Happy holidays friend!
Thanks Ariel!! Happy holidays to you too!
I love your front porch! And that plaid blanket on the ladder with the lights. So festive!
Hugs, Jamie
Thanks Jamie! The ladder might end up staying in the room after the holidays because I love it so much 🙂
First, I love the chairs you have at your kitchen table and would love a set but I worry my cat would scratch them – yours don’t? Second, the vintage angel candle holders are incredible! What a lovely and fun tour!
Thanks heather! The chairs are from ikea and none of our cats seem to want to scratch them (although our kitten will occasionally gnaw on a leg lol) we’ve had them 5 years now and they’re going strong!
So lovely, classic, and welcoming!!
Everything looks so festive and cozy! I’m loving plaid in my home for Christmas this year too…it’s so great! Happy holidays!
Everything looks so cozy and warm. I think my favourite are your Grandma’s vintage angels -so sweet!
I really like your four angel, you are so very talented and the design of your home was so beautiful. I will try this decoration in future.
Love that corner with the DIY ladder – lovely festive touch!
