Good fences make good neighbours right? I have to say, I really like my neighbours and a part of me is really sad that we put up fences as our impromptu backyard parties now require walking around the block (sigh, so much effort).
If you move into a new development and you’re lucky enough to have some handy neighbours who like the idea of building their own fences, I highly recommend doing it together. We saved a lot of money and got to know each other in the process.
After agreeing on the style (dead simple) and how much we wanted to spend (as little as possible) we got to work! We hired a local company to dig and set our posts then spent a weekend building the fences for four houses.
Did I mention the hand digging? Yeah, we had to do that too for two holes and yours truly did one (still not sure how I got roped into that one)
After all that hard work (and more beer than I care to talk about) our fences are done! I have to say, the backyard looks WAY bigger now and all I can think about is deck, deck, deck!
